L’année 2020 a été compliquée pour de nombreux navigateurs avec l’annulation de régates et d’événements sportifs. Notre Ambassadeur Even Job qui a déjà participé à plusieurs courses, dont la Transquadra à maintes reprises, avait pour projet de participer cette année à la régate transatlantique la Cap Martinique. En raison des conditions sanitaires, la course a dû être reportée. Notre Ambassadeur n’a pas abandonné et a décidé de participer à un autre événement : la Cap-45/11 !

Avec un départ prévu début juin 2021, la Cap-45/11 est un événement inédit avec un départ de La Rochelle et une arrivée à La-Trinité-Sur-Mer, soit un parcours total de 750 miles nautique.

Avant de prendre le départ, Even Job nous a accueilli à bord de son Figaro 2 où il nous explique en détail la façon dont il utilise la technologie TIMEZERO. En effet, depuis plusieurs années le coureur amateur est équipé de TZ Navigator, logiciel de plaisance, et de TZ iBoat, application pour iPhone et iPad. Notre Ambassadeur nous explique en vidéo la fonction qu’il utilise le plus, à savoir le module Routage et nous présente le détail du parcours de la Cap-45/11.

TZ iBoat app, first released in 2016, has been a challenging yet rewarding project for the TIMEZERO team. First brought to the market with the objective to be the all-in one solution for maritime navigation, the efforts to improve and reach that objective have not ceased one bit in these past years. 

Since its launch, new features and updates have been released to improve the app capabilities and user experience. Now, we have reached version 2.2, available for iPhones and iPads. For this new version, as done in the past, we listened closely to our customers and partners to find out which improvements were the most important.

A few weeks ago, we presented the TARA OCEAN Foundation and their Microbiomes project (article available here). Laboratory of the seas, the boat left for a two years mission in the South American and African coasts. Composed mainly of scientists, the crew studies the marine microbiome that makes up our oceans and works on an educational program to raise awareness of ocean preservation. 

To manage their navigations in remote areas, the crew members have chosen TIMEZERO. We had the opportunity to interview the captain of the ship, Samuel Aubain. We asked him which were the two TIMEZERO features he used the most. 

Below, learn more about the two features Samuel uses the most: Radar Overlay and Instrument Interconnectivity. Available for TZ Professional and TZ Navigator, these features have also been adapted for our TZ iBoat solution, a navigation app for iPad and iPhone.

Depuis ses 8 ans, le skipper belge Gaëtan Thomas n’a jamais cessé de naviguer. Que ce soit sur des superyatchs, des bateaux de pêche ou des voiliers de location, il a toujours profité de chaque occasion pour prendre le large.

Cette année, il revient avec un nouveau challenge pour novembre 2021 : un tour du monde en solitaire à bord de son Class 40. Il nous a accueilli à bord du « Be a Drop » pour nous expliquer comment il utilise le logiciel TIMEZERO pour ses navigations. De plus, il présente les principales fonctionnalités qu’il utilise régulièrement comme le module Routage, l’affichage des données météo ou encore l’affichage des cibles AIS autour du bateau.

In recent years, the protection of natural areas and wildlife has become a priority for many governments and organizations worldwide. As part of this movement, the WWF has taken a leading role, developing innovative solutions and raising awareness about these crucial issues. A fantastic example of its work is the project to preserve the maritime area surrounding the Galapagos Islands, off the coast of Ecuador. In this case, the WWF jointed efforts with the local authorities to protect this unique natural space. 

A project of this type required a system to monitor all traffic within a delimited area. Our TZ Coastal Monitoring software technology covered this need and additionally offered other features such as the Record and Replay module, alarms, and video recording capabilities that made our proposal the best possible one.

The Tara Ocean Foundation is a unique TIMEZERO Ambassador! Mainly composed of scientists, the crew’s mission is to study the marine microbiome of our oceans. Each litre of seawater contains hundreds of billions of organisms: phytoplankton, protists, bacteria, and viruses. All this biodiversity interacts in an ecosystem that researchers want to understand, measure, quantify, identify, and evaluate.

Because of climate change, we are facing new challenges. Understanding our oceans’ microbiomes is a priority to define our future actions. Tara Ocean Foundation is also a nomadic educational mission that raises awareness about the preservation and the respect of our oceans.

Zébulon Aventure, c’est un projet qui fait rêver ! Partir naviguer en famille sur les mers du monde, c’est le projet fou qu’Alban et sa famille sont en train de réaliser. Après avoir vécu durant des années à des rythmes de vie effrénés, le couple de navigateurs a décidé de découvrir le monde en bateau, accompagné de leurs deux filles. Leur nouvelle maison est un catamaran à voile, un bateau confortable et peu polluant qui répond à tous leurs besoins.

Le capitaine Robert M. Krieg, plus connu sous le nom de Capitaine Bob, est un navigateur hors pair qui a su faire ses preuves aussi bien d’un point de vue professionnel que dans ses traversées en solitaire. Il a également fait la une des médias il y a quelques années après avoir secouru une navigatrice à bord d’un voilier en perdition au large de l’Afrique du Sud.

Capitaine Bob est sur le point de publier un manuscrit qui rassemble toutes ses navigations, ses péripéties et son histoire afin d’inspirer d’autres navigateurs : de l’obtention de ses brevets et certificats de navigation, jusqu’à son tour du monde en solitaire. Comme une archive, son livre sera également un support d’études avec des centaines d’illustrations et de photographies pour tous les plaisanciers du monde entier, avides d’aventures et de navigations hors du commun.

In the first part of our article, available here, we introduced the I Clean My Sea project. These past few months, Aymeric and his team have completed different sea trials to test their app and collect as much data as possible. To accompany them during their trips, they equipped themselves with TZ Professional to manage their navigation and analyze relevant data. I Clean My Sea welcomed us onboard “The Collector” in order to better understand their use of TIMEZERO technology.
