MaxSea official supplier of Normandy Sailing Week 2012

Once again, MaxSea International is happy to be one of the official suppliers of the 2012 edition of Normandy Sailing Week 2012.

For this 7th edition, that is going to take place in Le Havre from June 8th to 10th, MaxSea provided the event with MaxSea TimeZero maritime navigation software, charts and a Routing module, to be used by the race direction.

Last year, the event featured 4 days of races, 112 participants, 106 yachts ranked, 89 races launched across 11 series, 3 race zones in a single day, split between 4 different fleets, harbor courses, one long coastal course around the Seine Bay and one offshore course for the M34s.

Sur le port du Havre, les grues recommencent déjà leurs danses. La 6e édition de la Normandy Sailing Week touche à sa fin. Après quatre jours de courses dans des conditions très variées, aujourd’hui, les vainqueurs de chaque série ont reçu leurs prix sous un grand soleil…

Victoires incontestées en monotypes

Impérial Courrier Dunkerque ! Après trois jours de compétition et six victoires, l’équipage des nordistes s’offre le luxe de ne pas courir le dernier jour et monte sur la plus haute marche du podium. Derrière, à égalité de points, Toulon Provence Méditerranée et Bretagne – Crédit Mutuel terminent respectivement deuxième et troisième. L’équipage des locaux, à bord de Bred – La Normandie, décroche la quatrième place au classement général. Normandy Sailing Week : 110 crews registered on the Eve of Normandy Sailing Week 2011

As has been the case every year since its launch in 2006 in Deauville, NORMANDY SAILING WEEK has racked up an ever increasing number of competitors, despite a busy sports schedule and several other important events in close proximity. In this way, nearly 110 crews have registered to date for NORMANDY SAILING WEEK 2011, with some still yet to sign up before the start of the event this Friday 10 June in Le Havre, where the M34 series from the Tour de France à la Voile will open proceedings. Normandy Channel Race : Victory for Initiatives Saveurs!


“A legendary race” commented Dominic Vittet at the finish, co-skipper on the Class40 L’Express Sapmer. However, after 4 days of intense, action-packed racing it was Tanguy de Lamotte and Sébastien Audigane aboard Initiatives Saveurs who took victory. On the second step of the podium were Fabien Delahaye and Bruno Jourdren on Port de Caen – Ouistreham and in third position Des pieds et des mains helmed by Damien Seguin and Yoann Richomme.

Nearly 870 miles were covered at an average speed of 8.39 knots. The change of course, much awaited by the racers, shortened the course distance by 170 miles but took nothing away from the quality of the competition. Continue reading
